Raw “Snickers” Slice
Chocolate + Caramel + Nuts… What’s not to love? I used to be a big lover of Snickers bars but one thing I did not love about them are the ingredients. Aside from the bar not being Vegan, it is also packed with high amounts of sugar and other ingredients my body can do with out.
A few years ago my sister sent me a picture of a home-made “snickers” slice that she had whipped up, Curious, I asked her for the recipe so i could try this delicious dessert myself.
I had not had a Snickers bar in years so I was so excited to to make this and share with everyone. One of the best things about this slice is there are hardly any ingredients and it takes literally about 10 minutes to make. oh and also, it taste like a Snickers bar!
You will need –
High speed blender or food processor
Baking try that will fit in freezer
1 cup of Cashews – or nut of your choice
Half a cup of dates (pitted)
Half a cup of shredded coconut
1 cup of Peanuts
1 cup of dates
1/3 cup of melted coconut oil
1 cup of 100% peanut butter
4-6 Tbsp of rice malt syrup
2-3 tsp of raw cacao powder
Place Cashews, dates and the shredded coconut in the food processor, pulse until everything is mixed together ~
Scoop out crust with a Tbsp into a baking tray, you want to make a thin to medium layer and then place in freezer.
Add the peanuts, dates, coconut oil and peanut butter to processor ~
Spoon the filling on top of your already made crust and then place the slice back in the freezer.
In a bowel or your food processor add the cacao powder and rice malt syrup, stir until completely mixed together then pour an smooth over the top of the filing. – put the slice back in the freezer for a few hours.
Note -Store slice in the fridge or freezer.

Peanuts & Peanut Butter – Are one of the healthiest foods you could consume, They are high in Protein, Iron, B6, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamin E, Niacin, Folate and Resveratrol, the Phenolic Acid that can also be found in Red Grapes. Peanuts are also very high in Anti-oxidants and help to support the heart.
Rice Malt Syrup – Instead of an instant high and then crashing RMS offers a slow release of energy. RMS is gentle on the liver as it is Fructose free. – Although it is a healthy alternative, Those with Diabetes should be cautious due to its glycemic index. As always only use in moderation.
Raw Organic Fair Traded Cocao Powder – High in Iron, Magnesium, Calcium and Antioxidants such as Resveratrol to help support a healthy heart. Cocao is also high in natural occurring chemicals that help to support your Neurotransmitters such as Dopamine, Serotonin, Anandamide and Phenylethylamine.
